Mentoring

One-on-One Mentoring

Each youth is provided with a caring adult. Our mentoring relationships require a minimum of a one-year, four hour per month commitment.  Our youth range from ages 4-18.

Group Mentoring

Allows caring adults to mentor in a group setting for four hours each month. This is a great mentoring option for social groups and churches. Eligible participants mentor in a group size of 2 to 5 adults matched with 2 to 5 children.

Study Buddy Mentoring

As part of our Study Buddy program, we will pair you with a child who needs your help with academics. You will be responsible for meeting with that child for four hours a month to provide academic help, support, motivation, and more. With the support of We Stand For Kids throughout the entire process, you will be able to see your Study Buddy improve by being given access to an academic tracking tool.

Enrichment

Afterschool Enrichment

Each youth is provided with the opportunity to achieve academic excellence through attendance in our afterschool program. With the ongoing support of volunteers and the determination of the child, our youth are able to improve academically by at half a grade level. Youth are also provided with life skills training from local outreach groups as well as participation in recreational activities.

Summer Enrichment

Each youth is provided with the opportunity to participate in social, academic and recreational activities. The enrollment age for this program is ages 5-15 years. Youth ages 16 and over are equipped with yearly activities for job readiness training and encouraged to seek summer employment or volunteer opportunities.

Life Skills Training

Our organization provides life skills training for girls ages 10-18 equipping them with the necessary tools for womanhood, which includes skills in: time management, entrepreneurship, social, motherhood, education and self value. We also provide social behavior skills training as provided through collaboration with local referral and outreach organizations.
